    Mode of Action

    • Interferes with bacterial cell wall synthesis

    Dosage Recommendations

    • 1 to 2 gm for adults IV or IM once a day
    • 50 to 75 mg/kg for infants and children IV or IM once a day

    Maximum Daily Dose

    • 4 gm/day for adults
    • 2 gm/day for infants and children

    Preparation Instructions

    • Dissolve in Lidocaine HCI or Water for Injection

    • Injection over 2-4 minutes
