Indications

  • Pneumonia (moderate to severe)

Pharmacology

Bactericidal mode of action disrupting the synthesis of the peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cell walls

Dosage & Administration

  • Administered intravenously over approximately 30 minutes
  • Specific dosages for different types of infections

Interaction

Potential nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity when administered with high doses of aminoglycosides

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with immediate hypersensitivity reactions to cefepime or cephalosporin class of antibiotics
