Interaction
- Impaired absorption with antacids and certain preparations

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to tetracycline groups
- Avoided in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus
- Considered contraindicated in severe renal impairment

- Teeth and bone issues due to depression of bone growth
- Hypersensitivity reactions like anaphylaxis and rashes
- Photosensitivity reactions
- Gastrointestinal effects like epigastric distress and nausea
- Accentuated prerenal azotemia
- Superinfections with candidiasis
- Esophageal ulcerations
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not recommended for use during pregnancy
- Risk of hypertoxicity in the mother and effects on the developing fetus

Precautions & Warnings
- Given with caution in patients with impaired liver function
- Avoid high doses in patients with liver issues
- Avoid concomitant use with potentially hepatotoxic drugs
