Description
- A fixed-dose combination tablet containing Amlodipine and Atenolol for the treatment of essential hypertension and angina pectoris.
Dosage and administration
- Recommended dosage of 5/25 mg tablet once daily, may be increased as advised by physicians
- Dosage should be individualized
Pharmacology
- Amlodipine - dihydropyridine calcium antagonist
- Amlodipine - peripheral vasodilator
- Atenolol - cardioselective beta-blocker
- Atenolol - reduces blood pressure by lowering cardiac output and sympathetic outflow
Interaction
- Interaction with Disopyramide, Ampicillin, Oral antidiabetics and insulin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to either component
- Sinus bradycardia
- Cardiogenic shock
- Congestive heart failure
