- Skin cysts and abscesses
- Stasis ulcers and infected skin ulcers
- Bacterial, fungal or viral superinfection
- Sycosis barbae
- Minor surgical wounds
- Infected contact dermatitis caused by susceptible organisms
Pharmacology
- Proven bactericidal antibiotic
- Active against Gram-positive & Gram-negative pathogens
- Interferes with protein synthesis of bacterial cell
Dosage & Administration
- Apply 3 times daily
- Wash area with soap and water before application
- Remove crusts before application
- Maximum contact with infecting organisms
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Gentamicin
- Pregnancy
- Myasthenia gravis
