Pharmacology
- Combination of Amlodipine and Atenolol
- Amlodipine: calcium antagonist
- Amlodipine: peripheral vasodilator
- Atenolol: cardioselective beta-blocker
- Atenolol: reduction in blood pressure
- Atenolol: reduction in myocardial oxygen demand
Dosage & Administration
5/25 mg tablet once daily, individualized dosage
Interaction
- Disopyramide: reduced clearance
- Ampicillin: reduction of Atenolol levels
- Oral antidiabetics and insulin: decreased tissue sensitivity to insulin
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to components
- Sinus bradycardia
- Higher degrees of heart block
- Cardiogenic shock
- Hypotension
- Congestive heart failure
- Poor left ventricular function
