Dosage
- 500 mg once daily for 3 days (adult oral)
- 500 mg once on day 1, then 250 mg once daily for 4 days (adult oral)
- 1 gm single dose or 500 mg once on day 1, then 250 mg daily for 2 days (adult sexually transmitted diseases)
- 10 mg/kg body weight once daily for 3 days (children oral)
- 200 mg for 3 days for 15-25 kg body weight (children oral)
- 300 mg for 3 days for 26-35 kg body weight (children oral)
- 400 mg for 3 days for 36-45 kg body weight (children oral)
- 500 mg once daily for 7-10 days in typhoid fever (children oral)
- 500 mg as a single daily dose by intravenous route for at least two days, followed by oral therapy (adult IV infusion)
Administration
- Reconstitution procedure for suspension
- Shaking the bottle
- Adding boiled and cooled water
- Shaking until powder is completely mixed
- Take at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meal
