Dosage
- Oral: Adult dosage: 500mg for 3 days or 500mg on day 1 followed by 250mg on days 2-5
- Children:
- 10 mg/kg for child over 6 months
- 200 mg for body weight 15-25 kg
- 300 mg for body weight 26-35 kg
- 400 mg for body weight 36-45 kg
- 500 mg for typhoid fever
- Azithromycin Injection (For IV Infusion only):
- 500 mg as a single daily dose for at least two days
- 500 mg as a single daily dose for one or two days for pelvic inflammatory disease in adults
- Not established in children or adolescents under 16 years
Administration
- Reconstitution procedure of suspension
- Shake well before use
- Take at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meal

- Reversible elevations in liver transaminases
- Rare cases of serious hypersensitivity reactions
- Cholestatic jaundice
- Transient mild reductions in neutrophil counts
- Hearing impairment in high doses
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category B
- No evidence of harm to the fetus in animal studies
- Caution in use during pregnancy
- Unknown secretion in breast milk
- Caution when administered to nursing women
Precautions & Warnings
- Rare serious allergic reactions

Use in Special Populations
