Mode of Action

Dosage

  • 500 mg once daily orally for 3 days (adult)
  • 1 gm as a single dose, or 500 mg once on day 1 followed by 250 mg once daily for next 2 days (adult - sexually transmitted diseases)
  • 10 mg/kg body weight once daily for 3 days (children over 6 months)
  • Azithromycin injection for adult patients with community-acquired pneumonia and pelvic inflammatory disease

Administration

  • Reconstitution procedure for suspension
  • Shake the bottle well
  • Add boiled and cooled water
  • Shake until powder is completely mixed with water
  • Take at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meal
