Pharmacology

Dosage
- 500 mg once daily orally for adults
- 10 mg/kg body weight once daily for children
- 500 mg as a single daily dose for IV infusion
Administration
- Oral intake at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meal
- Suspension reconstitution procedure
Interaction
- Antacid intake timing
- Potential interactions with carbamazepine, cyclosporin, digoxin, ergot derivatives, methylprednisolone, theophylline, warfarin, and terfenadine
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Azithromycin or macrolide antibiotics
