Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients previously found to be sensitive to clindamycin or any of the ingredients
Side Effects
- Adverse effects such as abdominal pain, oesophageal irritation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pruritus, skin rashes, urticaria
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category B
- Crosses the placenta in humans
- Appears in breast milk
- Use in pregnancy only if clearly needed
- Not recommended for nursing mothers if not clearly needed
Precautions & Warnings
- Prescribed with caution in individuals with a history of gastrointestinal disease, particularly colitis
Use in Special Populations
- Monitoring of organ system functions in newborns and infants
- No dose adjustment needed for geriatric use
Overdose Effects
- Adverse reactions similar to normal doses
- Haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis are not effective in removing Cinamycin from the serum
- Overdosage should be treated with simple gastric lavage
