Description
- Lincosamide antibiotic
- Derived from lincomycin
- Effective against aerobic and anaerobic bacteria
- Specific strains of gram positive bacteria
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage for serious infections: 150 mg-300 mg every six hours
- Dosage for more severe infections: 300 mg-450 mg every six hours
- Dosage of Clindamycin Powder for oral solution based on severity of infections
- Specific dosages for pediatric and adult patients
Interaction
- Enhances action of neuromuscular blocking agents
- Antagonism with erythromycin demonstrated in vitro
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients sensitive to clindamycin or its ingredients

Precautions & Warnings

Use in Special Populations
- Appropriate monitoring for newborns and infants
- No dose adjustment for geriatric use
Overdose Effects
- Rare with orally administered Clindabac
- Expected adverse reactions similar to normal doses
- Haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis not effective in removing Clindabac
