Description

  • Semisynthetic antibiotic derived from lincomycin
  • Effective against aerobic and anaerobic gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria

Dosage & Administration

  • Dosage for serious infections: 150 mg-300 mg every six hours
  • Dosage for more severe infections: 300 mg-450 mg every six hours
  • Oral solution dosage for pediatric patients: 8-25 mg/kg/day divided into 3 or 4 equal doses
  • IV/IM injection dosage for adults: 600-2700 mg/day in 2-4 equal doses
  • Dosage adjustment for special populations
  • Direction for reconstitution of powder for oral solution
  • Dilution of IV injection for intravenous use

Interaction

  • Enhancement of action of neuromuscular blocking agents
  • Antagonism with erythromycin

Contraindications

  • Contradicted in patients sensitive to clindamycin or ingredients of the medicine
