Description
Endamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic used in the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is a semisynthetic antibiotic derived from lincomycin. It is effective in treating various infections including upper respiratory, lower respiratory, skin and soft tissue, bone and joint, pelvic, intra-abdominal, septicemia, endocarditis, and dental infections.

DosageAndAdministration
- Clindamycin Capsule:
- Serious Infections: 150 mg-300 mg every six hours
- More Severe Infections: 300 mg-450 mg every six hours
- Special Cases: 300 mg capsule 3-4 times daily for bone & joint infections, diabetic foot infections
- Clindamycin Powder for Oral Solution:
- Pediatric Patients 10kg or Less: 1/2 teaspoon (37.5 mg) three times a day
- Pediatric Patients 1 month to 16 years: 20 to 40 mg/kg/day in 3 or 4 equal doses
- Clindamycin IV/IM Injection: Doses vary based on infection types, ages, and severity
Interaction
Endamycin enhances the action of other neuromuscular blocking agents. Antagonism has been demonstrated between Endamycin and erythromycin.
Contraindications
Clindamycin is contraindicated in patients previously found to be sensitive to clindamycin or any of the ingredients of this medicine.

OverdoseEffects
Overdosage with orally administered Endamycin has been rare. Adverse reactions similar to those seen with normal doses can be expected.
