Indications

  • Treatment of ocular infections
  • Infections involving the conjunctiva and/or cornea
  • Susceptible organisms: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, E.coli, H. influenzae, Klebsiella/Enterobacter spp, Moraxella lacunata, Neisseria species

Pharmacology

  • Broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic
  • Inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis
  • Interference with transfer of activated amino acids

Dosage & Administration

  • Adult and children dosage
  • Instill 1 or 2 drops in the conjunctival sac
  • Frequency of administration
  • Duration of treatment
  • Re-evaluation by physician

Interaction

  • Inhibition of Chymotrypsin

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to Chloramphenicol or any ingredients
