Indications

Treatment of ocular infections
Infections of conjunctiva and cornea

Neisseria species

Pharmacology

Broad-spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic
Inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis
Interference with transfer of amino acids
Soluble RNA
Ribosomes

Dosage & Administration

Instill 1 or 2 drops in the conjunctival sac
4-6 times per day for 72 hours
Every 4 hours thereafter
Treatment for approximately 7 days
Not to be continued for more than 3 weeks without re-evaluation

Inhibition of chymotrypsin

Hypersensitivity to Chloramphenicol
History of hypersensitivity
