Indications

• Treatment of interdigital tinea pedis
• Treatment of tinea cruris
• Treatment of tinea corporis
• Caused by Trichophyton rubrum

Description

• Synthetic antifungal agent
• Broad spectrum antifungal
• Allylamine derivative
• Fungicidal activity against Trichophyton rubrum
• Fungicidal activity against Trichophyton mentagrophytes
• Fungicidal activity against Trichophyton tonsurans
• Fungicidal activity against Epidermophyton floccosum
• Fungistatic activity against Candida albicans
• Inhibition of sterol biosynthesis
• Inhibition of squalene 2,3-epoxidase

Pharmacology

• Inhibition of sterol biosynthesis
• Inhibition of squalene 2,3-epoxidase
• Decreased amounts of sterols
• Accumulation of squalene in cells

Dosage & Administration

• Topical use only
• Not for ophthalmic, oral, or intravaginal use
• Thin layer application once daily
• Applied to affected areas and margin of healthy skin
• 2 weeks treatment duration

Side Effects

• Pruritus

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy Category B
• Limited studies in pregnant women
• Potential risk to the fetus
• Caution for nursing mothers

Precautions & Warnings

• Discontinue if redness or irritation develops

Use in Special Populations

• Established safety and effectiveness in 12-17 age group
• No established safety in pediatric patients < 12 years
• Limited data on subjects aged 65 and over
