- Glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency

- Crystalluria

Pregnancy Lactation
- Excretion in breast milk may cause kernicterus

- Risk of macrocytic anaemia with prolonged full dose treatment
- Interference in the conversion of Folic acid into Folinic acid
- Potential potentiation of action of sulphonylurea in diabetic patients
