Indications
- Treatment of corneal ulcers
- Treatment of conjunctivitis

Composition
- Active Substance: Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride BP equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 3 mg per ml
- Preservative: Benzalkonium Chloride 0.06 mg per ml
Pharmacology
- Bactericidal activity against a wide range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive organisms
- Inhibition of A subunits of DNA gyrase
Dosage & Administration
- Dosage for corneal ulcers based on time intervals and frequency of instillation
- Dosage for bacterial conjunctivitis and blepharitis based on hourly and daily instillation
- Safety and effectiveness not established in children under 1 year of age
Interaction
- Potential elevation of plasma concentrations of theophylline
- Interference with the metabolism of caffeine
- Enhancement of effects of oral anticoagulant warfarin and its derivatives
- Transient elevations in serum creatinine in patients receiving cyclosporin concomitantly
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or any other component of the product
- Hypersensitivity to other quinolones, including Nalidixic acid
Side Effects
- Local burning or discomfort
- White crystalline precipitates in approximately 17% of patients in corneal ulcer studies
- Lid margin crusting
- Foreign body sensation
- Itching
- Conjunctival hyperemia
- A bad taste following instillation
- Corneal staining
- Keratopathy/keratitis
- Allergic reactions
- Lid edema
- Tearing
- Photophobia
- Corneal infiltrates
- Nausea
- Decreased vision
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
- Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to the fetus
Precautions & Warnings
- Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi
- Discontinue use and initiate alternative therapy if super-infection occurs
- Discontinue at the first appearance of a skin rash or any other sign of hypersensitivity reaction
Overdose Effects
- Flushing from the eye(s) with warm tap water in case of topical overdose

Storage Conditions
- Store at room temperature
- Protect from light
- Contents should not be used more than one month after first opening of the bottle
