Description
- Cipoxia is indicated for the treatment of single infection or mixed infections caused by two or more susceptible organisms. It can also be used for infections caused by organisms resistant to other antibiotics including Aminoglycosides, Penicillins and Cephalosporins.
- Cipoxia is a synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent with broad spectrum of activity against most gram negative aerobic bacteria including Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and also active against gram-positive aerobic bacteria including penicillinase producing, non penicillinase producing, and methicillin resistant staphylococci.
- Dosage range for adults is 100-750 mg twice daily, and may vary for specific infections such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and gonorrhea.
- Administration instructions include specific steps for IV infusion.
- Contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or to other quinolones.
- Possible side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances, central nervous system disturbances, hypersensitivity reactions, joint pain, mild photosensitivity, and transient increase in liver enzymes.
- Not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation, and should be used with caution in patients with suspected or known CNS disorders.
- Storage conditions require keeping below 30°C temperature, protected from light and moisture.
Indications

Interaction
