Description
- Cipro-A is indicated for the treatment of single infection or mixed infections caused by two or more susceptible organisms. It can also be used for infections caused by organisms resistant to other antibiotics including Aminoglycosides, Penicillins and Cephalosporins.
- Ciprofloxacin is a synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent with broad-spectrum activity against most gram-negative and some gram-positive aerobic bacteria. It interferes with the enzyme DNA gyrase needed for the synthesis of bacterial DNA. The drug is rapidly and well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and widely distributed into the body tissues and fluids.
- Dosage recommendations for adults range from 100-750 mg twice daily, depending on the severity and type of infection. Dosage adjustments are required for patients with impaired renal function. The recommended duration of treatment is 5 to 10 days, with possible extension depending on the condition. Storage conditions require keeping the product below 30°C temperature, protected from light and moisture.
