Description

  • Indications:
    • Treatment of single and mixed infections
    • Infections caused by susceptible organisms
    • Infections resistant to other antibiotics
    • Treatment of urinary, respiratory, and gastrointestinal tracts infections
    • Treatment of biliary, intra-abdominal, and bone and joint infections
  • Pharmacology:
    • Synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent
    • Broad spectrum of activity
    • Bactericidal action through interference with DNA gyrase
  • Dosage:
    • Determined by severity, type of infection, and patient factors
    • Dosage range for adults: 100-750 mg twice daily
    • Different dosages for specific infections e.g., urinary, respiratory, gonorrhea
    • Dosage adjustment for impaired renal function
    • Duration of treatment based on severity of infection
  • Administration:
    • Instruction for the use of Ciprofloxacin IV infusion
    • Suggested procedure for IV infusion administration
  • Interaction:
    • Avoid concurrent administration with specific antacids and products containing calcium, iron, or zinc
