Indications
- Treatment of single or mixed infections
- Infections resistant to other antibiotics
- Specific infections in various body systems
Pharmacology
- Synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent
- Broad spectrum of activity
- Bactericidal action by interference with DNA gyrase enzyme
Dosage
- Adults: 100-750 mg twice daily
- Urinary tract infections dosage: 250-500 mg twice daily
- Gonorrhea dosage: Single dose of 250 or 500 mg
- Cystic fibrosis dosage: 750 mg twice daily
Administration
- IV infusion instructions:
- Check for leaks before use
- Do not use if solution is cloudy
- Regulate rate of administration with flow control clamp
Interaction
Avoid concurrent use with specific antacids and dairy products
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or quinolones
