Dosage Range
- 100-750 mg twice daily for adults

Dosage for Specific Conditions
- Single dose of 250 or 500 mg for gonorrhea
- 7.5-15 mg/kg/day for children
- 1000 mg extended-release tablet once daily for uncomplicated urinary tract infection

Interaction
- Avoid concurrent administration with certain antacids and dairy products
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or other quinolones

- Transient increase in liver enzymes
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Not recommended for use during pregnancy due to arthropathy in immature animals

- Avoid concurrent use with specific products

Absorption and Excretion

Impaired Renal Function
- Adjustment may be necessary in patients with severe renal impairment
Elderly Usage
- No dosage adjustment necessary despite higher serum levels
Studies
- No evidence of teratogenicity, impairment of fertility, or impairment of peri/postnatal development in reproduction studies
Pediatric Usage
- Effective in clinical trials but not a first choice drug
