Indications

Pharmacology
- Synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent
- Broad spectrum of activity
- Active against gram negative aerobic bacteria
- Active against gram-positive aerobic bacteria
- Bactericidal action from interference with DNA gyrase
- Rapid and well absorption from G.I. tract
Dosage
- Dosage range for adults: 100-750 mg twice daily
- Dosage depending on severity of infection
- Different dosage for urinary tract infections and respiratory tract infections
- Cystic fibrosis dosage: 750 mg twice daily
- Dosage adjustment for impaired renal function
- Duration of treatment depending on severity of infection
Administration
- Instruction for IV infusion administration

Interaction
- Concurrent administration with antacids or sucralfate should be avoided
- Avoid taking concurrently with milk or dairy products
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or other quinolones
