Indications

Pharmacology

Administration

Contraindications

Side Effects
- Gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting
- Central nervous system disturbances like headache, dizziness, tiredness
- Hypersensitivity reactions including skin rash and pruritus
- Joint pain, mild photosensitivity, and transient increase in liver enzymes reported
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No evidence of teratogenicity, fertility impairment, or peri/postnatal development impairment in reproduction studies
- Not recommended for use during pregnancy due to potential arthropathy in immature animals
- Secretion in milk indicates not recommended for nursing mothers
Precautions & Warnings
- Use with caution in patients with CNS disorders or factors predisposing to seizures
- Instructions for use with or without meals and liberal fluid intake
- Precautions against concurrent intake with certain antacids or dairy products
Use in Special Populations
- Effective in clinical trials but not a first choice in pediatric population
Overdose Effects
- May lead to seizures, hallucinations, confusion, abdominal discomfort
- Risk of renal and hepatic impairment, crystalluria, and haematuria
