Indications
- Treatment of single or mixed infections
- Infections caused by susceptible organisms

Pharmacology
- Synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent
- Broad spectrum of activity
- Bactericidal action interference with DNA gyrase
- Rapid and well absorption from G.I. tract
- Widely distributed into body tissues and fluids
- About 30% to 50% excreted in urine within 24 hours
Dosage
- Dosage determined by severity and type of infection
- Dosage range for adults: 100-750 mg twice daily
- Higher serum levels in the elderly
- Dosage adjustment in impaired renal function
- Duration of treatment depends on severity

Administration
