Contraindications
- History of hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or quinolones
Side Effects
- Gastrointestinal disturbances
- Disturbances of the central nervous system
- Hypersensitivity reactions
- Joint pain
- Mild photosensitivity
- Transient increase in liver enzymes
- Risk of hypoglycemia and mental health adverse effects
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No evidence of teratogenicity, fertility impairment, or peri/post natal development impairment
- Caution due to arthropathy in immature animals
- Not recommended during pregnancy
- Not recommended for nursing mothers
Precautions & Warnings
- Use with caution in patients with suspected or known CNS disorders
- Drinking fluids liberally
- Avoiding concurrent administration with certain antacids and products
- Reduced absorption of Quinox with milk or yogurt alone
- Dietary calcium not significantly affecting absorption
Use in Special Populations
- Effective in clinical trials but not a first-choice drug in pediatric population
