Indications

  • Treatment of single infection or mixed infections caused by susceptible organisms
  • Treatment of infections caused by organisms resistant to other antibiotics
  • Treatment of urinary, respiratory, gastrointestinal, skin, soft tissue, bone, joint, and reproductive tract infections
  • Treatment of eye, ear, nose, and throat infections
  • Treatment of gonorrhea
  • Treatment of biliary tract and intra-abdominal infections

Pharmacology

Synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent with broad spectrum of activity

Dosage

  • Dosage range for adults: 100-750 mg twice daily
  • Different dosages for specific infections e.g. urinary tract, respiratory tract, gonorrhea
  • Dosage adjustment in impaired renal function
  • Extended-release tablet dosage recommendations

Administration

Instruction for IV infusion and dosage for various infections

Interaction

Avoid concurrent administration with certain antacids or dairy products

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Ciprofloxacin or other quinolones
