Description
- Rocipro is indicated for the treatment of single infection or mixed infections caused by two or more susceptible organisms. It can also be used for infections caused by organisms resistant to other antibiotics including Aminoglycosides, Penicillins and Cephalosporins. Rocipro is a synthetic quinolone anti-infective agent with broad spectrum of activity. It is widely distributed into the body tissues and fluids and is excreted in the urine within 24 hours as unchanged drug and biologically active metabolites.

100-750 mg twice daily for adults
Recommended Dosage for Urinary Tract Infections
250-500 mg twice daily
Recommended Dosage for Respiratory Tract Infections
250-500 mg twice daily depending on severity
Recommended Dosage for Gonorrhea
Single dose of 250 or 500 mg
Dosage for Cystic Fibrosis
750 mg twice daily for adults with pseudomonal infections of the lower respiratory tract
Dosage Adjustment for Impaired Renal Function
May be achieved by reducing the total daily dose by half
Duration of Treatment
Varies depending on the severity of infection, generally 5 to 10 days
Precautions for CNS Disorders
Use with caution in patients with suspected or known CNS disorders
Avoid Concurrent Administration with Certain Products
- Magnesium or Aluminum containing antacids
- Sucralfate
- Products containing Calcium, Iron, or Zinc
Pregnancy & Lactation Precautions
- Causes arthropathy in immature animals, not recommended during pregnancy
- Secreted in milk, not recommended for nursing mothers
