Description
- Winbac is indicated for the treatment of single infection or mixed infections caused by two or more susceptible organisms. It can also be used for infections resistant to other antibiotics including Aminoglycosides, Penicillins, and Cephalosporins.
Indications
- Treats single or mixed infections
- Effective for urinary, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and gonorrheal infections
- Suitable for severe systemic infections and infections in immunosuppressed patients
Pharmacology
- Ciprofloxacin is a synthetic quinolone with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity
- Bactericidal action results from interference with DNA gyrase
Dosage
- Adult dosage range: 100-750 mg twice daily
- Specific dosages for urinary tract, respiratory tract, and gonorrhea infections
- Dosage adjustment for impaired renal function
- Duration of treatment based on infection severity
Administration
- IV infusion instructions for Ciprofloxacin
- Proper procedure for hanging and regulating the flow of IV solution
Interaction
- Avoid concurrent use with magnesium or aluminum containing antacids or similar products
- Do not take with milk or dairy products
- Take other products containing calcium, iron, or zinc either two hours before or six hours after Winbac
