Description
Leo is a synthetic, broad-spectrum, third-generation fluoroquinolone derivative antibacterial agent for oral administration. Chemically levofloxacin is a chiral fluorinated carboxyquinolone.
Indications
- Acute Maxillary Sinusitis
- Bacterial Exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis
- Community-Acquired Pneumonia
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Pyelonephritis
- Skin and Soft Tissue Infections
- Enteric Infections
Dosage
- Tablets:
- 250 mg
- 500 mg
- 750 mg administered orally every 24 hours
- Oral Solution: 1 hour before, or 2 hours after eating
- Injection: Intravenous infusion only - 250 mg, 500 mg, or 750 mg administered every 24 hours

Mode of Action
Inhibiting Bacterial Topoisomerase IV and DNA Gyrase
Interactions
- Avoid co-administration with multivalent cations
- Reduced absorption with antacids, iron, and adsorbents
- Increased risk with NSAIDs and warfarin

- Hypersensitivity to Levofloxacin or Quinolone
