Description
- Synthetic broad-spectrum antibacterial agent
- Third-generation fluoroquinolone derivative

Pharmacology
- Exerts antibacterial action by inhibiting bacterial topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase
- Required for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination
- In vitro activity against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms
Dosage
- Available as 250 mg, 500 mg, and 750 mg tablets
- Oral solution available
- Oral administration without regard to food
- Intravenous administration for certain cases
