Indications

  • Treatment of mild, moderate and severe infections
  • Susceptible strains of designated micro-organisms
  • Acute maxillary sinusitis
  • Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
  • Community-acquired pneumonia
  • Uncomplicated & complicated urinary tract infections
  • Acute pyelonephritis
  • Uncomplicated & complicated skin and soft tissue infections
  • Enteric infections

Pharmacology

  • Inhibits bacterial topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase
  • Required for DNA replication, transcription repair and recombination
  • In vitro activity against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms

Dosage

  • 250 mg or 500 mg or 750 mg tablets
  • Oral administration every 24 hours
  • Can be administered without regard to food
