Indications

Description
Synthetic, broad-spectrum, third-generation fluoroquinolone derivative antibacterial agent for oral administration
Pharmacology
Inhibition of bacterial topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase
Dosage
- 250 mg, 500 mg, 750 mg orally every 24 hours
- Different doses for various conditions and age groups
Administration
Instructions for the use of Levofloxacin infusion
Interaction
Avoid co-administration with solutions containing multivalent cations, antacids, iron, adsorbents, NSAIDs, and warfarin
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to levofloxacin or quinolone antimicrobial agents

Pregnancy & Lactation

- Take adequate water to avoid concentrated urine
- Dose adjustment in renal insufficiency
Overdose Effects
Low potential for acute toxicity, stomach should be emptied in case of overdosage, and patients kept under observation with appropriate hydration
