Description
Synthetic, broad-spectrum, third-generation fluoroquinolone derivative antibacterial agent
Pharmacology
Exerts antibacterial action by inhibiting bacterial topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase
Dosage
- Usual dose of 250 mg, 500 mg, or 750 mg tablets administered orally every 24 hours
- Intravenous administration for adults and children

Interaction
Avoid co-administration with solutions containing multivalent cations
Contraindications
Not to be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to levofloxacin or quinolone antimicrobial agents

- Possible symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, flatulence, phototoxicity, tremors, depression, anxiety, confusion
Pregnancy & Lactation
