Indications
- Bacterial infections
- Conjunctivitis

- Infections due to Loflox susceptible germs
- Staphylococcus aureus-induced corneal ulcers
Pharmacology
- Difluorinated quinolone derivative
- Bacterial gyrase inhibitor
- Effective against gram positive and gram negative bacteria
- Low acute toxicity
- Interferes with bacterial DNA processes
- Inhibits bacterial enzyme gyrase
- Forms stable complex with gyrase teramer A2B2
- Rapid killing of sensitive bacteria
Dosage
- Instill 2-3 times daily 1 drop into the lower conjunctival sac
- Initial frequent application
- Duration of treatment: 7 to 9 days
Administration
- May be taken with or without food
Interaction
- Avoid ophthalmic preparations containing heavy metals
- Avoid bacteriostatic ophthalmic antibiotics
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active ingredient
- Hypersensitivity to excipients
- Hypersensitivity to quinolones
- Potential for secondary fungal infections
- Potential for growth of non-susceptible bacteria
