Lomequin 0.3% (Ophthalmic Solution)

Indications

• Treatment of bacterial infections in the eye
• Effective in conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers

Pharmacology

• Bacterial gyrase inhibitor
• Effective against gram positive and gram negative bacteria
• Interferes with bacterial DNA processes

Dosage

• 2-3 times daily with 1 drop into the lower conjunctival sac
• Initial treatment application is more frequent

Administration

May be taken with or without food

Interaction

Avoid using ophthalmic preparations containing heavy metals or bacteriostatic ophthalmic antibiotics concomitantly

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to active ingredient or quinolones
• May enhance development of secondary fungal infections

Side Effects

• Slight burning after instillation
• Possibility of photosensitization and allergic reactions

Pregnancy & Lactation

Use only if benefit outweighs potential risk for fetus or infant

Precautions & Warnings

• Avoid intensive exposure to sunlight or UV-radiation during treatment
• Isolated cases of phototoxicity reported

Overdose Effects

Low risk of adverse effects due to accidental oral ingestion
