Indications
- Bacterial infections
- Conjunctivitis
- Blepharitis
- Blepharoconjunctivitis
- Staphylococcus aureus-induced corneal ulcers
Pharmacology
- Bacterial gyrase inhibitor
- Effective against gram positive and gram negative bacteria
- Low acute toxicity
- Interferes with bacterial DNA processes
- Target molecule: A-subunit of bacterial enzyme gyrase
- Rapid killing of sensitive bacteria
Dosage
- For adults and children (above 1 year of age)
- Instill 2-3 times daily 1 drop into the lower conjunctival sac
- Initial treatment application should be more frequent
- Duration of treatment: 7 to 9 days
Administration
May be taken with or without food
Interaction
Avoid ophthalmic preparations containing heavy metals
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to active ingredient
- Hypersensitivity to excipients or quinolones
- Long term treatment may enhance development of secondary fungal infections

- Slight and transient burning immediately after instillation
