Indications

• Replacement of fluid and electrolyte loss

Composition

• Each sachet contains 1.30 gm of Sodium Chloride BP
• Each sachet contains 0.75 gm of Potassium Chloride BP
• Each sachet contains 1.45 gm of Trisodium Citrate Dihydrate BP
• Each sachet contains 6.75 gm of Glucose Anhydrous BP

Pharmacology

• Oral rehydration salt preparation
• Single formulation for dehydration treatment
• Effective for diarrhea of any etiology
• Prevents acidosis due to electrolyte imbalance

Dosage

• Equivalent to patients' fluid requirement for maintenance
• Stool or vomiting-related dosage for different age groups
• Encourages continuation of breastfeeding for children
• Continuation of normal food for adults during therapy

Administration

• Must be dissolved in 500 mL of pure drinking water
• Avoid mixing with hot water
• Unused prepared oral saline should be discarded after 12 hours

Interaction

• No known drug interactions

• Supplementation with parenteral fluids may be needed in certain situations
