Indications

Pharmacology
- Blocks RNA- and DNA-dependent polymerase activities

Dosage
- Recommended dosage for adults: 600 mg orally, once daily
- Combination with other antiretroviral agents

Administration
- Recommended to be taken on an empty stomach
- Preferred at bedtime
Interaction
- Additive CNS effects with psychoactive drugs

- Special precautions for pediatric use and women on hormone-based birth control
Use in Special Populations
- Not studied in pediatric patients below 3 years
- Caution for women using hormone-based birth control
Overdose Effects
