Indications

Pharmacology

Fungistatic or fungicidal activity against a variety of yeasts and fungi
Binds to sterols in the fungal cell membrane
Causes loss of potassium and other cellular constituents
Poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract

Dosage & Administration

Dosage for children with intestinal and oral candidiasis (thrush)
Dosage for prophylaxis in newborns
Dosage for adults with intestinal or esophageal candidiasis
Dosage for prophylaxis of intestinal candidiasis in adults
Dosage for prophylaxis to suppress the overgrowth of Candida albicans in patients receiving broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy
Dosage for treatment of dental sores and oral infection
Dosage for elderly individuals with intestinal candidiasis who are unable to swallow tablets
