Indications
- Temporary relief of allergic conjunctivitis symptoms
- Suitable for adults and children above 2 years of age
Pharmacology
- Contains antazoline, an anti-histamine
- Includes tetryzoline, a sympathomimetic with alpha-adrenergic activity
- Works by blocking HI histamine receptors and reducing redness and edema
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dosage: 1 drop 2 to 3 times daily for up to 14 days
- Children dosage: 1 to 2 drops per day for possible systemic effects
- Not for use in children below 2 years of age
Interaction
- Contraindicated with MAOIs
- Enhances sedating effects of CNS depressants and anti-muscarinic drugs
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Antazoline/Tetryzoline or excipients
- Contraindicated with Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOI)
Side Effects
- Common adverse effect: mild and transient burning/stinging upon installation
