Pharmacology
Triazole antifungal agent, inhibitor of fungal cytochrome P-450 dependent enzymes, responsible for the synthesis of ergosterol

Interaction
- Interactions with warfarin, sulphonyl ureas, hydrochlorothiazide, phenytoin, rifampicin, and oral contraceptives

- Impact on prothrombin time, cyclosporin levels, theophylline clearance, and endogenous steroid levels
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Fluconazole or related triazole compounds

Precautions & Warnings
- Abnormalities in hepatic, renal, haematological, and biochemical function tests
- Rare cases of hepatic necrosis
- Exfoliative cutaneous reactions, Stevens Johnson Syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis
- Monitoring and discontinuation in case of rashes
- Not recommended during lactation
- Unlikely to impair driving or use of machinery
Use in Special Populations
- Elderly patients - dosing based on renal impairment
- Renal impairment - dosing adjustment based on creatinine clearance
- Dosing adjustment for patients on haemodialysis
Overdose Effects
