- Indicated for Invasive candidal infections and cryptococcal infections (including meningitis)
- Indicated for Prevention of cryptococcal meningitis
- Indicated for Prevention of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients
- Indicated for Systemic Candidiasis and Cryptococcal infection
- Indicated for Superficial Candidiasis
- Indicated for Fungal urinary tract infections
- Indicated for Disseminated candidiasis
- Indicated for Prophylaxis for fungal infection in neutropenic cancer patients
- Indicated for Acute treatment of other systemic fungal infections such as coccidioidomycosis and histoplasmosis
- Potent inhibitor of fungal cytochrome P-450 dependent enzymes

- Dosage: 150 mg as a single dose for Vaginal Candidiasis
- Dosage: 200 mg in 1st day followed by 100 mg daily for 14 days for Oropharyngeal Candidiasis
- Dosage: 200 mg in 1st day followed by 100 mg daily for 14-30 days for Oesophageal Candidiasis
- Dosage: 150 mg weekly for 4-6 weeks for Tinea corporis/Tinea cruris/Tinea pedis/Other Tinea
- Dosage: 50 mg daily for 20 days for Kerion
- Dosage: 400 mg as a single dose for Pityriasis versicolor
- Dosage: 150 mg weekly for 12 months for Onychomycosis
- Dosage: Orally or by IV infusion, 400 mg on first day then 200-400 mg daily for Invasive candidal infections and cryptococcal infections (including meningitis)
- Interaction with warfarin: Increased prothombin time
- Interaction with oral sulphonyl ureas: Prolongs serum half-life
- Interaction with hydrochlorothiazide: Increases plasma concentrations
- Interacts with phenytoin, rifampicin, and combined oral contraceptive
- Adverse effects include nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhoea, flatulence, and rarely rash
- Pregnancy & Lactation: Adverse fetal effects in animals, not recommended for use in pregnancy or lactation
- Warnings in patients with serious underlying diseases such as AIDS and cancer
- Rarely patients may develop exfoliative cutaneous reactions
- Does not affect the ability to drive or use machinery
- Use in the elderly: Normal dose should be used if there is no evidence of renal impairment
- No adjustments in single dose therapy are required for renal impairment
