Contraindications

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Adverse fetal effects in animals
- Should not be used in pregnancy or in women of childbearing potential without adequate contraception
Precautions & Warnings
- Abnormalities in hepatic, renal, haematological, and other biochemical function tests in some patients
- Rare exfoliative cutaneous reactions
- Discontinue in case of rash in superficial fungal infection
- Use not recommended during lactation
- Unlikely to impair driving or use of machinery
Use in Special Populations
- Normal dose for elderly with no evidence of renal impairment
- Dosage adjustment for renal impairment based on creatinine clearance
- Excretion predominantly in the urine
- Dosage adjustments for patients with renal impairment
Overdose Effects
- Supportive and symptomatic treatment
- Forced volume diuresis may increase elimination rate
- Haemodialysis may decrease plasma levels
