Indications

Pharmacology

Interaction
- Effects on prothrombin time with warfarin

Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Fluconazole or related triazole compounds

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Adverse fetal effects in animals at high dose levels
- Not recommended in pregnancy or women of childbearing potential without adequate contraception
Precautions & Warnings
- Observation of hepatic, renal, haematological, and biochemical function tests
- Rare occurrences of hepatic necrosis
- Development of exfoliative cutaneous reactions in rare cases
- Discontinuation in case of rash development
- Not recommended in nursing mothers
- Unlikely to impair ability to drive or use machinery
Use in Special Populations
- Use in the elderly with no evidence of renal impairment
- Dosage adjustments in renal impairment based on creatinine clearance
Overdose Effects
- Supportive and symptomatic treatment
- Potential for gastric lavage and forced volume diuresis
- Decrease in plasma levels with haemodialysis
