Mechanism of Action
- Inhibits DNA synthesis and disrupts the DNA helical structure of microbial pathogens
Indications
- Treatment of bacterial infections
- Treatment of parasitic infections such as giardiasis and amebiasis

Typical Dosage
- 500 mg once daily for 3 to 5 days
- 2 g single dose for trichomoniasis
