    Mechanism of Action

    Indications

    • Halcinonide is indicated for the relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.

    Typical Dosage

    Pediatric Dosage

    • Dose adjustment may be needed in elderly patients due to age-related decrease in skin thickness and function.

    Side Effects

    • Common side effects may include burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, secondary infection, and skin atrophy.

    Contraindications

    • Hypersensitivity to halcinonide or any component of the formulation.

    Pregnancy Category

    • Pregnancy Category C - Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus, and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans. Use during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

    Lactation Safety

    • It is not known whether halcinonide is excreted in human milk. Use caution when administering to a lactating woman.

    Overdose Symptoms
