Dosage & Administration
- Should be taken 15-30 minutes before meals
- Adult dose: 10-20 mg (1-2 tablets or 10-20 ml suspension)
- Children's dose: 0.2-0.4 mg/kg body weight
- Maximum dose: 80 mg daily

- Dopamine antagonist
- Blocks dopamine receptors in CTZ and stomach

- Weak penetration across blood-brain barrier
Interaction
- Anticholinergic drugs may antagonize domperidone's effect
- Avoid simultaneous administration with antacids and antisecretory drugs
- Main metabolic pathway through CYP3A4
- In vitro data suggests interaction with CYP3A4 inhibitors
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to domperidone
- Neonates
- Gastrointestinal hemorrhage

- Prolactin releasing pituitary tumor
